Job Description

The Respiratory Director is responsible for the overall supervision, administrative planning, control, and coordination of the management functions of the Respiratory Department in order to achieve both quality and financial objectives in the provision of healthcare, education, and participation in hospital and community health programs. His/her time is proportionally divided between managerial and patient care services based on the needs of the facility. He/she must exhibit strong communication skills, leadership and managerial abilities, and clinical skills. He/she must also exemplify a positive role model for the department morale, attendance, quality of care, professionalism, and other related matters. Education:  Associates Degree in Respiratory Science, Bachelor’s  preferred,  or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:  4 years clinical experience and 2 years management experience and/or any equivalent combination of education, training or experience.

Licenses/Certificates:  Current New Mexico Respiratory Care Practitioner License (RRT), BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP.
